Shouting

Rembrandt
Self-portrait Shouting
1630

A few favorites from the large collection of Rembrandt etchings at the Morgan Library in New York. For the most part the crisp and lovely Morgan copies were collected by rich Americans in the late-19th and early-20th centuries during a time when the prestige of Rembrandt (like that of Raphael) occupied an even loftier peak than it does now.
